Bad weather led to drowning tragedy

The Chinese embassy in Egypt says four Chinese nationals have drowned while swimming in the northwest of the country.

The two newly-married couples drowned on Friday at the coastal city of Marsa Matruh, after stormy weather caused big waves. Two Egyptian couples also drowned when swimming at nearby beaches. The Chinese embassy in Egypt has warned all those in the country to take necessary precautions. A lack of safety regulations and resources at tourist spots in Egypt has already led to many cases of drowning and boat accidents.
