Clean up and epidemic prevention have become the priority in Yuyao city in east China's Zhejiang province as the flooding recedes.
Thousands of police officers have been cleaning up debris in major road sections and communities of the typhoon-hit city. Extra vehicles have been deployed by local authorities to spray disinfectants in public places. 90% of the roads have been repaired, and the water and power supply have resumed in 80% of communities.
Primary and high schools started classes on Monday.
Local authorities say repairing the rest of the damaged infrastructure will continue, in a bid to ensure an early resumption of public services.
