A 77-year-old woman sued her son to care for her and provide psychological support, the Beijing Daily reported.
The woman, surnamed Chen, said she lives with her daughter but said she would like to see her son every day. "He is my only son but he has never taken care of me, even for a day," Chen said.
Song agreed in court to pay Chen 600 yuan in support every month but is reluctant to have his mother move in with him and his wife, who live in a 30-square-meter low-rent apartment. Chen responded, "The location is not important, just as long as we can live together."
Under the mediation of the judge, Chen and Song reached an agreement that he would take care of his mother, starting this month.
