Two miners were found alive early Tuesday morning in north China's Shanxi province 10 days after being trapped under a coal mine shaft, a company source said.

The two workers were saved by rescuers at about 3 a.m. at the Zhengsheng Coal Mine of Shanxi Coking Coal Group Co., Ltd. in Fenyang City, according to the company rescue headquarters.

They were conscious and did not have life-threatening problems. They are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital, according to the company.

How they survived in the shaft were yet to be known as they were too feeble to talk, according to the company.

Search is still under way for the other 10 missing miners.

A total of 12 miners were trapped after a flooding in the state-owned mine at 3:10 a.m. on Sept. 28.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
