Former vice-governor of East China's Anhui province Ni Fake has been ousted from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and removed from his government post for suspected bribery.

The decision was announced on Monday by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

After an investigation, the commission found that Ni had gained benefits for others by abusing his power, and he had accepted money and goods himself or via his relatives, the commission said in a statement.

The commission described his acts as "demoralization."

The Supreme People's Procuratorate also said on Monday that its investigation into Ni's crimes continues.
