Metro expects 8 million

The city's subway system will transport around 8 million commuters Wednesday, the last day before the Mid-Autumn Festival, xinmin.cn reported Sunday.

To further exacerbate the situation, the holiday falls in the midst of the city's ongoing tourism and shopping festivals.

Metro operators have added two backup trains on Line 1 and one for Line 5 to cope with the situation.
