A Guangzhou-based newspaper was warned by the local government for publishing unethical material after the paper ran a full-page advertisement on Tuesday in which a mistress-turned-wife demanded her marital predecessor stay away from the man they once shared.

The Guangdong Province Administration for Industry and Commerce organized an emergency meeting Tuesday afternoon with the Nandu Daily and ordered the paper to pull off all related advertisements, citing the advertisement is against China's advertising law, which stipulates that all commercials must promote good social behaviors.

The administration said it will initiate an investigation to look further into the case and warned all the other media in Guangdong Province to fend off such advertisements.
