Boyfriend arranges girl’s rape

Two men has been arrested in connection with the rape of a 20-year-old Henan Province girl whose boyfriend locked her in a rented room so his friend could have sex with her, Jiading district police said Tuesday.

The unidentified victim came to Shanghai early August to meet a man whom she had met on the Internet, according to a police press release.

The two shacked up together in a rented room in Jiading district for several days until another man showed up claiming to be the room's tenant. From then on, the girl and her boyfriend spent their nights in Internet cafés and slept in the room only during the day.

One day, the victim returned to the room with her boyfriend and fell asleep. While she was unconscious, the boyfriend let his friend into the room and locked the door from the outside, police said. The boyfriend's friend then raped her.

The next day, she managed to break out and report the rape to police. Police later arrested the boyfriend's friend at his home, where they found a tool that could be used for burglary. A subsequent investigation revealed that the girl's boyfriend, her rapist and another man had stolen more than 20,000 yuan ($3,266) in property from homes in the area.
