11 dead, five injured in SW China road accident

Eleven people were killed and another five injured in a road accident Sunday morning in southwest China's Yunnan province, local authorities said.

A seven-passenger minibus was carrying 15 people when it fell off a mountain slope at 8:10 a.m. in Agang town of Luoping county, according to the county government.

It said the driver died on the scene along with nine others, including a pregnant woman.

One of the five injured passengers died after emergency treatment failed. The other four have been hospitalized, including one still in critical condition.

Further investigation into the accident is underway.
