Heat alert remains for 14 days

China's central weather observatory has issued another orange level heat alert. Many parts of Southern China are experiencing temperatures up to 39 degrees Celsius.

In some south-western and eastern provinces temperatures have reached up to 42 degrees Celsius. According to the central weather observatory, over 1.5 million square kilometers in China is suffering from the extreme weather. More than 160 monitoring stations across the country have reported the highest temperatures this year.

The 10 hottest areas have an average temperature of 41.5 degrees Celsius. The Eastern province of Zhejiang has experienced temperatures up to 43 degrees Celsius.
