A new round of high temperatures are continuing in most parts of China.

Weather authorities in Beijing have issued this Summer's highest alert against hot weather. The average temperature surpassed 38 degrees Celsius in the central city.

In north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the temperature reached 37.5 degrees Celsius. The surface temperature in the west hit 68 degrees, high enough to fry an egg.

Shanghai Municipality in east China saw a temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, the highest since summer began. Weather authorities there have issued the seventh orange alert against high temperatures. Orange alert is the second highest warning, with the red alert at the top.
