4 dead, 20 injured in SW China crash

Four people have been confirmed dead and 20 others injured after two vehicles fell off a bridge in southwest China's Guizhou Province on Wednesday, local authorities said.

The accident happened at 9:45 a.m. when a truck rear-ended a coach on Tianhe Bridge in Longquan Town of Fenggang County, said an official from the county government.

Both vehicles fell off the bridge after the collision.

One person died on the scene while three others died after emergency treatment failed, said the official.

Of the 20 people injured, four are in critical condition.

The 30-seat coach was carrying 31 passengers when the accident occurred, including one infant who suffered minor injuries.

Further investigation into the accident is under way.
