Taiwan sizzles in heat wave

The stifling heat wave is rewriting record books in Taiwan. Average temperatures in Taipei city toppled the 100-year record in June. Temperatures are also soaring in Taichung city in central Taiwan.

Taichung city is facing soaring temperatures that even water cannot stop.

People have been trying out innovative gadgets to cool their homes, but for those living in this tin house, the heat is hard to beat.

Outside the temparature is even worse.

Butter melts within seconds.

Some are even frying steaks on the sidewalk, using just the power of the sun.

The deadly heat wave even targeting wanted criminals.

This wanted man called an ambulance after suffering a heat stroke.

This 88-year old man fainted on the street .

Motorcycle riders having to endure even more with their helmets on.

But all this may just be a small teaser, with the weather authorities predicting that the coming months could be even more sizzling.
