Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao on Tuesday met with Douangchay Phichit, deputy prime minister and minister of defense of Laos.

Li said that both the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government view the China-Laos relationship from a strategic and long-term perspective, and they are willing to advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in a sustained way to jointly push ahead with the socialist drive.

Douangchay voiced his appreciation for China's great support for Laos and pledged to make more efforts to further advance the friendly cooperation between the two sides.
