China, S Korea to strengthen ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping has reiterated the call for a denuclearized Korean Penisula during his meeting with President Park Geun Hye. The two countries have reached eight agreements to lay out the future vision for common prosperity in the coming decade.

Peace and stability on the Korean Pennisula is topping Park's agenda in China. The soft spoken President is tough minded on calling for a Korean Penisula free of nuclear weapons.

Park Geun Hye, S. Korean President, said, "Both sides have agreed that we will not accept DPRK as a nuclear power. We will continue to work towards the denuclearization of the Korean Penisula. We will continue to strengthen strategic cooperate and fulfill our obligations. "

Chinese President Xi Jinping reiterated the commitment. The new solidarity in the relationship sends a clear message.

Xi Jinping, Chinese President, said, "Both sides emphasized the need for dialogue to maintain the peace and prosperity of the Korean Penisula and resolve inter-Korean conflict. "

Both leaders have called for a substantive boost to the China-South Korean strategic cooperative partnership. The two sides have also agreed to step up FTA talks and increase trade and investment to a bilateral trade target of 300 billion US dollars.

"Both sides agree that we should step up cooperation, at the core of which is the FTA. We will continue to work to finalize the deal. " Said Park Geun Hye.

Ministers from both countries have signed eight agreements, to strengthen cooperation in the high tech industry, customs, energy efficiency, oceanic technology and animal protection.

Leaders have also agreed to boost inter-governmental, and ministerial-level dialogue, to continue to work under multilateral mechanisms and boost people-to-people exchanges.
