China will hold more space-related education activities in the future, said Wang Zhaoyao, director of China's manned space program office, on Wednesday.

Last week, female astronaut Wang Yaping, one of the three crew members of Shenzhou-10 spacecraft, gave China's first space lecture in live broadcast from the space module Tiangong-1 to about 330 primary and middle school students on Earth.

More than 60 million students from 80,000 middle schools across China watched the live broadcast of the lecture on TV.

"This lecture worked out to be successful, and I've learnt that some newspaper and media had praised the space lecture as it inspired the hope and passion for science and space among the youths," Wang said.

"It is for sure that more similar activities will follow in China's future manned space missions. They will be carried out in diversified fashions, and space lectures will only be one of them," he said.

"The length of such lectures may also be longer," he said.

Moreover, the official said that they will launch more ground-based space-related education activities.
