Chinese vice premier meets with FAO chief, OECD secretary-general

Vice Premier Wang Yang on Thursday met with Jose Graziano da Silva, director-general of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, and Angel Gurria, secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), respectively.

While meeting Graziano da Silva, Wang spoke highly of the important role FAO has played in global agriculture, as well as its cooperation with China.

Graziano da Silva praised China for its achievements in agriculture and voiced his hope to work with China to upgrade food security in China and the world at large.

While meeting with Gurria, Wang thanked the OECD for its efforts to cooperate with China and said he hopes both sides will increase mutual understanding and expand cooperation.
