A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Tuesday spoke highly of the development of China-Brazil ties in the past years.

The China-Brazil Comprehensive Strategic Partnership witnessed smooth development and frequent high-level exchanges in recent years, Guo Jinlong, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said when meeting with Henrique Eduardo Alves, president of Brazil's Chamber of Deputies.

The cooperation between China and Brazil through multilateral mechanisms like G20 and BRICS was fruitful, said Guo, who is heading a CPC delegation to visit the South American country.

Inter-parliamentary exchanges are an important part of bilateral ties, he noted, saying that communication and consultation between the CPC and major parties of Brazil's National Congress made significant contribution to the enhancement of China-Brazil relations.

Alves said Brazil is satisfied with the rapid development of its relations with China. The Chamber of Deputies is willing to step up communication and cooperation with China's National People's Congress.

On Monday, Guo Jinlong met with Rui Falcao, president of Brazil's Workers' Party, exchanging views on boosting inter-party relations.
