China, Myanmar to boost ties

A delegation from the Myanmar-China Friendship Association has made its first visit to China since the body was formed in May. The delegation met Chinese companies who are interested in investing in Myanmar.

Seeing China for themselves, and seeking for opportunities to enhance ties.

For the newly established Myanmar-China Friendship Association, it's the first visit to China.

China-Myanmar Friendship Association give its Myanmar counterpart a warm welcome. Chinese companies have shown sincerity in investing in Myanmar.

Both sides expressed their willingness to boost relations and signed a memorandum to strengthen further cooperation.

The Myanmar ambassador to China highlighted the importance of trade and economic ties with China.

U Tin Oo, Myanmar ambassador to China, said, "This is a round table meeting, so we got more understanding, more knowledge and experience by exchanging information. Our interest in China is the agriculture sector, mining and also export trading, that's important to our economic ties. "

Myanmar is rich in oil, natural gas and other mineral resources. China is now the country's largest investor and trade partner.

Win-win cooperation is based on more projects related to the livelihoods of the Myanmar people.

Geng Zhiyuan, Vice Chairman of China-Myanmar Friendship Assoc., said, "I hope Chinese companies will carry out more investment projects in Myanmar which are related to local people's interests. That will not only benefit enterprises but also Myanmar people."

Trade and economic cooperation between China and Myanmar has great potential. There are huge investment opportunities for businesses on both sides. Strengthening bilateral ties not only serves the fundamental interests of the two peoples, but will also contribute to the development and stability of the region.
