The Philippines and Taiwan have sent their respective probe teams to each others' islands to carry out further investigations into the killing of a Taiwan fisherman by Philippines Coast Guard. Taiwan authorities said that based on communication from the Philippine government, the Taiwan investigation team will be given full cooperation when it lands on the island.

The team will work with the Philippine authorities to examine the Philippine coast guard vessel. The members are expected to review the video evidence of the incident and the records of interrogation, check the guns and question the Philippine personnel involved in the shooting.

Taiwan authorities also promised to help the Phillipne investigation team after it arrives in Taiwan. The Philippine side has asked to conduct a post-mortem on the body of killed fisherman Hung Shih-cheng. But Hung's family has refused permission.
