The Philippines and China's Taiwan have agreed on a parallel investigation into the fatal shooting of a Taiwan fisherman by Philippine Coast Guard.

The Philippines agreed to Taiwan's request to be allowed to inspect the Philippine Coast Guard vessel and weapons. And Taiwan authorities agreed to allow a team from the Philippines' National Bureau of Investigations to go to Tawian to inspect the fishing boat, the Guang Ta Hsin 28, which was strafed with gunfire on May 9th.

The NBI will set the date for its 10-member investigation team's departure for Taiwan. An official from Taiwan's legal service office said the investigations aim to create consensus through cross-examination.
