A bit more now about the rescue and relief efforts in the earthquake area. Lets turn to Dachuan township, the most remote area in quake hit Lushan county.

35 tonnes of rice arrived here on Friday afternoon. The more than 60 kilometer long road connecting Lushan to Dachuan which was earlier difficult to travel on due to the numerous landslides along the way, has now been cleared.

Soldiers finally managed to hand the rice to the 6,000 residents living here after they managed to get in. These soldiers have travelled over 65,000 kilometres in the quake-hit areas, and helped transport over 3,000 tonnes of disaster relief materials.
