Li Keqiang meets California governor Jerry Brown

Premier Li Keqiang has met the governor of California, Jerry Brown in Beijing.

Li Keqiang said relations between China and the US developed rapidly over the last four decades. He said the relationship is now going through a transitional period. Li stressed that the two sides should work together to improve cooperation on the basis of mutual respect and benefit.

He expressed hope that California would strengthen its cooperation with China in high tech and clean energy, and cultural exchange. Brown said California welcomes more Chinese investment and students seeking to further their education.
