To prevent avian flu and protect the health of both visitors and ducks, workers are keeping a strict eye on the ducks in the Houhai area, the Legal Mirror reported Thursday.

Staff members from the "Wild Duck Island" disinfected the duck house Thursday morning. There are 300 duck eggs in the duck house, which are expected to hatch after the May Day holiday.

Qu Xisheng, who built the duck house, said that officers from the health and epidemic prevention department will also come to check the disinfection situation regularly.

Special report: H7N9 avian influenza
