China's new president arrives in Moscow for state visit

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow Friday, kicking off a state visit to Russia, the first foreign destination after he became China's president last week.

During his first visit to Russia as China's new president, Xi will hold talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the development of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and on major world and regional issues as well.

Xi will also meet Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and other Russian leaders.
