China's legislature holds plenary meeting to appoint premier

The first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) holds the fifth plenary meeting at 9:00 a.m. Friday.

Nearly 3,000 lawmakers will vote to decide on the premier, as well as vice chairpersons and members of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China.

They will also elect president of the Supreme People's Court and procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
