The candidate for China's new premier has been finalized for national lawmakers to vote on Friday, said a statement issued Thursday after the sixth presidium meeting of the first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC).

The lists of candidates for vice chairpersons and members of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the People's Republic of China and for the president of the Supreme People's Court and the procurator-general were also finalized and will be put on voting on Friday, said the statement.

The candidates for the premier and CMC vice chairpersons and members were nominated by newly-elected President and CMC Chairman Xi Jinping.

The candidates for the president of the Supreme People's Court and the procurator-general were proposed by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

On Friday, nearly 3,000 NPC deputies will vote to decide on the premier as well as CMC vice chairpersons and members. They will also vote to elect the president of the Supreme People's Court and the procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
