Xi Jinping is elected president of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and chairman of the Central Military Commission of the PRC at the fourth plenary meeting of the first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing, capital of China

Xi Jinping is elected president of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and chairman of the Central Military Commission of the PRC at the fourth plenary meeting of the first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing, capital of China

Xi Jinping was elected chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China at the annual session of the 12th National People's Congress Thursday morning.

Xi was also elected Chinese president at the same meeting.

The election result was announced after a vote of deputies to the national legislature.
