China has ramped up radiation monitoring after the DPRK's underground nuclear test. Latest readings shows no threat has been detected in China.

More than 20 monitoring stations in north-east China and Shandong Province in eastern China have not detected any radiation. Health authorities also report no abnormal changes in food and water quality. Meanwhile, based on weather forecast data, any radiation from the DPRK is likely to head South-east and won't affect China.

Yao Bin, deputy director of N'tl Nuclear Emergency Response Ctr, said:"After the panel discussion, we believe there is no radiation threat to China's environment and public health from the DPRK's nuclear test. People don't need to take any emergency measures."
