Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong met with Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister Taiyrbek Sarpashev on Thursday, and both sides agreed to further promote bilateral ties.

Noting that China and Kyrgyzstan are good neighbors, Liu described the two countries' relations as long-term, strategic ties.

She said China will support Kyrgyzstan in hosting the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Bishkek this year.

China is willing to maintain close high-level contact with Kyrgyzstan, deepen pragmatic cooperation in all fields, expand cultural exchanges and lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development of bilateral relations, she added.

Sarpashev said the Kyrgyz government attaches great importance to developing relations with China and is willing to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation with China in all fields, as well as boost the two countries' relationship.
