Tourists stranded at Xisha islands rescued

The three crew members and 24 tourists stranded in the South China Sea have been safely transferred to a Chinese maritime police ship.

They were stranded aboard a fishing boat at the Xisha Islands, due to strong winds and high waves. The vessel, Yuzheng-306, departed from Qinglan port in China's southernmost province, Hainan, on receiving the report. The Nanhai Rescue Bureau also dispatched a rescue ship. Police have issued a safety advisory against traveling to the Xisha Islands.
