Hospitals go high-tech

2013-01-04 14:25 Global Times     Web Editor: Wang YuXia comment

More than 600 public hospitals in Shanghai's 17 districts will be able to access each other's electronic medical records within the first half of 2013 as part of healthcare reform in the city, the Jiefang Daily reported.

Currently, 40 hospitals have joined the citywide platform so that doctors at different hospitals can better follow the conditions and allergies of their patients in an effort to ensure patient safety.

The electronic records include patients' symptoms, diagnoses, medications and test results.
