Transport busy as holiday ends

2013-01-04 13:21 CNTV     Web Editor: yaolan comment

Thursday was the last day of the New Year holiday, and people have been making their way home ready to start work again.

The Beijing-Guangzhou and Beijing-Shanghai railway lines have had a surge of passengers. Most highways are in good condition, but some in East China's Shangdong province and Sichuan province in the southwest were closed because of snow and ice. Airports in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou have also been busy. Some have been hit by snow, but most are working well. Beijing International Airport expected 210 thousand passengers on Thursday, with more than 14 hundred flights.
