The immediate family of a former housing administration official in Henan province allegedly owns 29 houses, the Beijing News reported.

The report quoted a whistle-blower who reported on the alleged holdings tied to Zhai Zhenfeng, the former director of the housing administration bureau in Erqi district of Zhengzhou, the provincial capital.

A report in the Beijing News on Jan 3 said that Zhai's son, Zhai Zhenghong, had two ID cards and owned 14 houses in Zhengzhou, according to the whistle-blower.

The whistle-blower also said that Zhai's wife, Li Shuping, owned four houses under her name in Zhengzhou.

Zhai's son also owned two companies, which he used for money transfers, the whistle-blower said.

Previous reports said that Zhai's daughter had two ID cards and owned 11 affordable houses in Zhengzhou.

The Erqi district government's publicity department in Zhengzhou said on Dec 30 that the district government is investigating the report.
