Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) leader Liu Yunshan on Monday called for the tenets of the 18th Party Congress to be implemented thoroughly in work, study and words.

The CPC National Congress, which was held last month, set clear goals and guidelines, and it is important to transform them into spiritual power and real actions, said Liu, a newly elected member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

Speaking at a symposium attended by officials and citizen members of Beijing's enterprises, villages and universities, Liu said that the manner of Party members' work, study and words is the embodiment of the Party's nature and purpose, as well as the Party's working methods and thinking processes.

"It is key to further change the style of work, study and words in order to be realistic and practical," Liu urged.

He called for strengthening research and investigation so as to solve deep problems in reform and development and problems concerning people's immediate interests.
