China wins women's 3,000m relay at ISU World Cup

China claimed the women's 3,000m relay gold at the ISU World Cup short-track series in Shanghai here on Sunday.

The Chinese team of Wang Meng, Li Jianrou, Xiao Han and Fan Kexin timed four minutes 7.660 seconds to win the final, while Japan came second in 4:10.736. Italy took the bronze in 4:14.150.

South Korea didn't make the final A but broke the world record in the final B with a time of 4:06.366.

"The most important is winning the relay," said Wang Meng, a four-time Olympic champion. "We did good teamwork."

The Chinese men's relay team failed to make the final A of the 5,000m relay, which was won by South Korea in 6:38.749. The Netherlands and Canada came second and third respectively in 6:38.904 and 6:41.760.
