Wang Gang meets German Social Democratic Party delegation

Senior Chinese political advisor Wang Gang met with a delegation from the Social Democratic Party of Germany on Thursday.

Wang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, hailed the progress in China-Germany ties in recent years, citing frequent leaders' visits, stronger political mutual trust and deeper cooperation in various fields.

As internationally influential countries, China and Germany share important responsibilities, Wang said.

Wang said it is in the fundamental interests of both peoples to boost China-Germany relations.

China has always taken a strategic and long-term view toward its relations with Germany and would like to work with Germany to deepen strategic trust, enhance pragmatic cooperation, expand people-to-people exchanges and boost bilateral relations.

The delegation, led by Rolf Muetzenich, is paying a three-day visit to China.
