Wang Zhizhi denied Tracy Mcgrady's first CBA win as China's former NBA player made a clutch shot to secure Bayi's 101-99 victory over Qingdao in the third round on Friday.

Mcgrady, the seven-time NBA All-star, whose brilliant performances were not good enough to save Qingdao in the previous two rounds, got only 13 points plus three assists in his team's third straight loss.

Qingdao shooter Zhao Yonggang got a hot hand from downtown with 10 out of 15 three-pointers to reap a career-high 36 points. Ilunge Mbenga, two-time NBA champion, had 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Bayi trailed 12 points on 72-84 after three quarters. Zhao made his 10th three-pointer with 3.3 seconds left as Qingdao leveled it 99-all before Wang Zhizhi buried the crucial jump shot.

Five Bayi players scored double digit with Wang leading the team with 27 points and nine rebounds.

Stephon Marbury took a game-high 32 points in Beijing's 109-104 away win over Liaoning, the third straight win for the defending champion.

Also on Friday, Shandong Gold beat Shanghai Sharks 89-78; Dongguan Marco Polo beat Jiangsu Dragons 98-92; Tianjin Ronggang beat Jilin Northeast Tiger 89-83; Guangdong Hongyuan beat Zhejiang Guangsha 113-110; Foshan Long Lions beat Xinjiang Guanghui 101-91; Fujian SBS beat Shanxi Zhongyu 109-102.
