Multi Olympic titlist Ye Shiwen will compete in next month's short course swimming world championships.

Ye, 16, is expected to enter her speclist events of 200m and 400m individual medley in the short course tournament in Turkey, slated on December 12 through to 16.

She finished second in both events in Dubai two years ago.

Ye, taking stunning wins in the 200 and 400 IM titles at London Olympic Games, has been considered a title favorite this time.

Her major rivals will be Britian's Hannah Miley who just won the European short course 400 IM title with a new European record of four minutes 23.47 and Hungary's Katinka Hosszu, a three-time Olympian.

"Miley created a new European record and Hosszu swam great too in the European championships. Their strong performance will spur me on!" Ye wrote in her microblog.
