The Communist Party of China (CPC) and the ruling United Malays National Organization (UMNO) of Malaysia have vowed to strengthen ties between the two parties and the two countries.

The bilateral ties between China and Malaysia have been on a right track, bearing fruits of pragmatic cooperation, the CPC said in a letter congratulating the opening of the 2012 UMNO General Assembly on Thursday.

CPC is willing to further develop the friendly relations with UMNO on the basis of "independence, equality, mutual respect and noninterference in each other's internal affairs", while making unremitting effort to bring the strategic partnership between China and Malaysia to a higher level, the letter said.

Meanwhile, UMNO Secretary General Adnan Mansor congratulated CPC on the successful conclusion of its 18th National Congress and the election of the new leadership.

UMNO is looking forward to deepening cooperation with CPC, and boosting the bilateral relations between the two countries, Adnan said during a meeting with He Jianzhong, Vice Chairman of State Commission Office for Public Sector Reform, who attended the UMNO General Assembly on behalf of CPC.
