World party leaders congratulate China on CPC congress

Political party leaders worldwide have congratulated China on the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which opened Thursday in Beijing.

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who is also chairman of the Nur Otan People's Democratic Party, said in his congratulatory message that China has achieved great achievements under the leadership of the CPC, whose experience and capable party members have facilitated the fast economic and social development of the country.

At the same time, the CPC's consistent and prudent foreign policy has earned China prestige and influence on the world stage, he said.

Tajik President Emomalii Rahmon, also chairman of the People's Democratic Party, said in his message that he was pleased with the achievements of the Chinese people, and that he believed the CPC congress would be another important move to consolidate the CPC's important status within China and in the world.

President of Iraq and Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Jalal Talabani also sent his congratulatory message, saying he believed the CPC would accomplish important tasks during the congress to respond to the changing situations, guide the Chinese people toward greater progress and prosperity, and raise China's status in the world.

President of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, also chairman of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea, sent his congratulations on behalf of the party and the government for the CPC's leadership and all party members on the tremendous achievements the Chinese people have made in fighting for respect and liberation.

President of Comoros Ikililou Dhoinine Madi said in his congratulatory message that, in the past decades, China has achieved enormous economic and social development under the leadership of the CPC.

China is a model for all developing countries and especially Comoros, he said.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, also chairman of the Party of Regions, said in his congratulatory message that the 18th national congress of the CPC would decide the future trend of China's development. That would be of vital importance for China's future as well as the entire international community, he said.

Chea Sim, president of Cambodia's Senate and president of the Cambodian People's Party, said the brotherly Chinese people have made enormous achievements in all fields under the wise leadership of the CPC.

The Cambodian People's Party is pleased with the good momentum in the relations between the two parties, two countries, and two peoples, and is grateful for China's assistance to and support for Cambodia, he said.

Nabih Berri, Lebanon's parliament speaker, who also heads the Amal Movement, said he hoped the important decisions to be made at the congress will guide the Chinese people toward greater progress and prosperity and help them play a bigger role in promoting justice and peace in the world.

In his congratulatory message, Niger's National Assembly Speaker Hama Amadou, who is also chairman of the Nigerian Democratic Movement for an African Federation, said his party wished for full success of the CPC congress, and sent his heartfelt congratulations on China's significant achievements under the wise leadership of the CPC.

Radimir Cacic, chairman of the Croatian People's Party and deputy prime minister of Croatia, said in his congratulatory message that the new CPC leadership soon to be announced would guide the Chinese people to promote the country's speedy economic development, and that China would become an important and indispensable force in the international community as its international status further consolidated.

Chairman of the Hungarian Socialist Party Attila Mesterhazy and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Istvan Ujhelyi said in their congratulatory message that the 18th national congress of the CPC is taking place at an important moment of the CPC's history and that they wished for greater success of the CPC.

Keo Puth Rasmey, who heads Cambodia's Funcinpec Party, said in his congratulatory message that his party had maintained friendly and cooperative relations with the CPC, and would continue to insist on the one-China policy and respect China's sovereignty and core interests.

Lee Hae-chan, chairman of South Korea's Democratic United Party, expressed his conviction that the national congress of the CPC would make great contributions to China's development and prosperity, and wished for closer exchanges and broader cooperation between the two parties to promote ties between the two countries and safeguard peace in Northeast Asia.

A congratulatory letter from the central committee of the Japanese Communist Party said the party expected stronger cooperation with China's Communist Party to resolve various outstanding issues between Japan and China and promote the friendly ties between the two countries and two peoples to prevent moves that contradict the trend of history and contribute to peace in Asia and the world.

Mizuho Fukushima, president of the Social Democratic Party of Japan, thanked the Chinese people for their strong material and spiritual support for Japan after the March 11 earthquake last year and the Fukushima radiation leaks. She also stressed the importance of dialogue to resolve differences between the two countries and Japan's obligation to reflect on historical mistakes.

Chairman of Kyrgyzstan's Ata Meken Socialist Party Omurbek Tekebayev said he believed the new leadership of the CPC to be elected at the 18th national congress would continue to pursue a foreign policy that aims to maintain and develop friendly and good-neighborly relations with countries in the world.

In a congratulatory message, the central committee of the Palestinian People's Party said it believed the 18th congress of the CPC would further promote China's development and progress and strengthen its role in safeguarding world peace.

The Lebanese Communist Party said in its congratulatory message that it expected the CPC to continue to dedicate itself to the development of ties with other countries and to find new ways to address challenges to play an important role in safeguarding world peace.

Samoan Prime Minister Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Sailele Malielegaoi who is also the leader of the Human Rights Protection Party, in his congratulatory message expressed gratitude for the support China has provided to Samoa and for the close friendship between the two countries under the leadership of the CPC.

The president of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) -- Muhammad Nawaz Sharif -- said in a congratulatory message that the CPC has introduced far-reaching reforms that have ensured decades of consistent economic progress, scientific development and social harmony, resulting in unprecedented development at home as well as increasing influence and prestige on the world stage.

Sharif, meanwhile, expressed deep appreciation to General Secretary Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao for having taken personal interest in forging stronger and more meaningful ties with Pakistan.

The Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed and PML President Chaudhry Shujat Hussain said in their congratulatory message that the CPC has been pivotal in providing leadership to the Chinese people in not just the establishment of New China but also in building a prosperous China whose peaceful rise is a source of strength and stability for Pakistan and Asia as a whole.

The message added that this remarkable achievement can be attributed to wise leadership for whom the interests of the people of China are paramount.

The two leaders also said that "we have no doubt that the 18th Congress of the CPC would be a turning point in the eventful history of the CPC as well as China as a whole and we look forward to the emergence of fruitful results of the 18th congress."

The chairman of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) -- Puspa Kamal Dahal Prachanda -- said in his message that "we feel pride to see our immediate neighbor to have achieved a remarkable economic progress accompanied by political stability under the leadership of the CPC."

The world is closely scrutinizing the CPC congress as developments that unfold in China will have direct repercussions in the world, the message said, adding they believed the outcome of the congress will have a far-reaching impact both in China as well as in the world.

The Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) expressed solidarity with efforts made by the CPC for peace, stability and development both at home and abroad, the message said.

The chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) -- Jhala Nath Khanal -- said in a message that under the leadership of the CPC, China has registered great progress and become the second largest economy of the world.

The message said China has successfully built socialism with Chinese characteristics as per basic guidelines laid down by Comrade Deng Xiaoping.

The chairman added that "we have valued the economic cooperation from China in the development process of Nepal."

The chairman of the Jatiyo Party of Bangladesh -- Hussain Muhammad Ershad -- said that the CPC has written a new chapter building socialism with Chinese characteristics, turned China's economy to new heights and made great political, cultural, social and ecological achievements, strengthened the living conditions of the Chinese people and added a feather of higher prestige in the world.
