No sweat for Ye in comeback swim

2012-11-07 09:23 China Daily     Web Editor: Wang YuXia comment

Although she won the 200m IM without being seriously challenged at the World Cup's Beijing leg, star Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen was guarded about her performance at her first international meet since the London Olympics.

"I felt comfortable about the race, but the time was slower than I expected," Ye told a packed mixed zone after clocking 2 min, 6.10 sec to win the final.

"I just started to practice systematically after altitude training. It was good enough (to claim the title)."

Ye, who bagged two gold medals (200m IM and 400m IM) in London, said she hasn't reached her peak form but will try to be at full strength for the short-course world championships in Istanbul, Turkey, next month.
