People's Daily Online finds partner in Silicon Valley

The strategic cooperation ceremony between China Enterprise Association California (CEA) and People's Daily Online West Bureau was held on Oct. 26 to open the prelude of a win-win solution for both parties.

The ceremony held in the San Jose City Hall was right after the opening ceremony of 2012 US China Economic & Technology Summit, an event held by CEA and its partners, including People's Daily Online.

Ben Chen, president of CEA, and Xia Wu, Chief of People's Daily Online West Bureau, jointly launched the strategic cooperation ceremony, which marks their "Invest in America" collaborative column on People.com.cn formally going online.

Gao Zhansheng, the Consulate General of China in San Francisco, expressed his congratulation. "People's Daily Online West Bureau is vigorous in reporting the Bay Area. It expands the influence of the Chinese-language media in the local neighborhood. I hope People's Daily Online will play a further role in promoting the Sino-US economic trade and facilitate a more healthy bilateral ties in the future,"He said.

"By cooperating with People Daily Online on the 'Investment in America' project, I hope CEA will become a bridge between all levels of Sino-U.S. governments and companies, as well as play a role of a gateway to reach China," Mr. Chen said.

People's Daily Online West Bureau was set up in Burlingame, California in February. "The cooperation is beneficial for both parties," Chief Bureau Wu Xia said: "It is also a substantial progress of People's Daily Online overseas localization development strategy in strengthening cooperation with local Associations."

"We are dedicated to strengthen ties with associations in the Bay Area," Wu Xia said.

The "Invest in America" column concentrates on reporting China-related investment environment, economic policies, laws and regulations and investment trends in America. It aims to build up a communication platform for companies in China and the United States and promote the exchange of information and sharing of resources.

Established in 1997 as a non-profit organization, China Enterprise Association has grown rapidly. It represents Chinese corporations that have investments and business in California. It has more than 80 Chinese member companies in America from diverse industry backgrounds, including telecom, hi-tech, finance and investments, clean and bio tech and travels. Over 10 of CEA members belong to Global 500 Companies.
