When people are still speculating about the release date of the iPad Mini, Apple Inc. has reportedly begun testing its fourth generation iPad, namely the iPad 4, which is expected to release in early 2013. Rumor has it that the A5 chip-powered iPad version "2,6" tablet is the iPad Mini, and will be released this month.

It is reported that the iPad 4 may run on the same A6 processor chip found in the iPhone 5 or a quad-core processor A6 chip, an upgrade to the third generation iPad.

Furthermore, the iPad 4 is very likely to use the Lightning connector as Apple is making active efforts to promote the new connection standard. In addition, the iPad 4 will use the same screen as previous iPads, but have more RAM and some design adjustments.

Changes of the fourth generation iPad screen are highly controversial.

The new iPad will be equipped with 16:9 display. Apple has replaced previous 4:3 display with a 16:9 display for iPhone 5. And the iPad mini sticks to 4:3 display. According to experts, the 4:3 display is equal to the book reading ratio and thus is more suitable for reading and viewing, and the a 16:9 display is more ideal for video watching.

However, it seems watching video is not the most commonly used feature of this device. In spite of this, the new design equips iOS mobile products with more excellent and prevailing view mode.

This change also incurred dissenting voices from some users.

They think that the proportion of 16-to-9 is not suitable for iPads because it will reduce users' interest in experiencing them and cause some negative impacts. After all, the tablets PCs are not smart phones. However, it can unify the development of applications.

Anyway, let us wait and see what the fourth-generation iPads will be like.
