S. Korea set to open consular office in Dalian

2012-08-29 08:42 Xinhua     Web Editor: Liu Xian comment

South Korea will open a consular office in Dalian, a port city in northeast China's Liaoning province, the foreign ministry here said Tuesday.

The move comes after South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao agreed in 2010 to open consular offices in respective countries to further promote bilateral exchanges.

China last month opened a consular office in South Korea's southern island of Jeju in accordance with the agreement.

The Dalian office, which officially opens Wednesday, will help enhance cooperation and exchanges between South Korea and Dalian city and provide effective consular services to South Koreans there, the ministry said in a statement.
