Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held a talk with visiting Zambian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Given Lubinda on Wednesday, according to a press release provided by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Chinese-Zambian relations have maintained healthy and stable development since they were established in 1964, Yang said, noting that the two sides have expanded exchanges at various levels and maintained close coordination in international affairs.

Yang told Lubinda that China is ready to work with Zambia to promote relations between the two, adding that China appreciates Zambian President Michael Sata's remarks on deepening bilateral ties.

China is a good friend of Zambia, Lubinda said, adding that China has provided valuable support for Zambia's national development.

President Sata and the Zambian government will firmly adhere to the One-China policy, said the minister.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern, according to the press release.
