Police arrest royal scalpers

Police arrested 44 men for scalping tickets for the Palace Museum, or Forbidden City, during the May Day vacation, the Beijing Evening News reported yesterday.

The imperial palace was the most crowded of all the tourist sites in Beijing. Single-day visits to the museum reached 110,000 people on Sunday, the first day of the three-day vacation, according to the Beijing Travel Committee, a government division for tourism.
