Disney’s theme park

Construction work on the theme park for Shanghai Disneyland started yesterday, after workers completed the ground work for the site and its surrounding area, the project's developer Shanghai Shendi Group said on April 25.

Apart from the Magic Kingdom's signature Dream Castle, the 3.9-square-kilometer theme park in Pudong New Area will also boast two Disney hotels to help accommodate an expected 7 million annual visitors. The 24.5 billion yuan ($3.89 billion)-project is slated for completion by 2016.
