The National Meteorological Center said Wednesday that heavy rains will sweep southern China over the next three days.
Regions south and east of the Yangtze River and some parts of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region as well as Guangdong and Fujian provinces will experience heavy rainfall and rainstorms from Wednesday to Friday, with precipitation totalling up to 130 millimeters, the center said.
Parts of these regions will see thunderstorms, strong winds and hail, the center added.
Meanwhile, a cold front is expected to bring dust storms and strong winds to some parts of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Gansu province during the period, with some areas also likely to be hit by sandstorms, the center said.
The center also forecast showers in Inner Mongolia, northeastern and northern China and areas along the Yellow and Huai rivers over the coming three days.
