China Eastern Airlines to launch air-railway combined transport

2012-04-16 16:55 People's Daily     Web Editor: Su Jie comment

The Shanghai Railway Bureau and the China Eastern Airlines signed an agreement to launch "air-railway traffic" products jointly, on April 12. The price of a combined ticket will be lower than the total price of the railway ticket and air ticket.

The "air-railway traffic" products will be officially launched in the end of April. The double-way air-railway combined transports among four cities (Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou and Ningbo) and two airports (Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and Shanghai Pudong Airport) will be realized first. The double-way combined transports of high-speed railways, bullet trains and the China Eastern Airlines' flights in three provinces and one city (Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces and Shanghai) under the Shanghai Railway Bureau will be gradually realized.

From now on, passengers will be able to buy the "air-railway traffic" products by dialing the hot line 95530 of the China Eastern Airlines or at any site of the China Eastern Airlines' global ticket selling network.

While buying their air tickets, passengers could book railway tickets at the Suzhou Railway Station, Wuxi Railway Station, Changzhou Railway Station, Ningbo East Railway Station and Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station at the same time. During their journeys, they could get their railway tickets at "air-railway combined transport" windows of appointed rail stations by their valid ID cards.
